My Story

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh with my 2 sisters. It wasn’t until I met my husband in 2015 that I really left the Pittsburgh area. We spent some time in Ann Arbor, Michigan where we got our first dog, Luna, and had our son. During this time, I was the lead Head Start Teacher at Whitmore Lake Elementary School. Michigan was a beautiful state, full of wildlife, adventure, and benevolence.  However, the adventure had only just begun. When our son turned 3 months old, we decided to satiate our inexorable desire to live out west for a few years before moving back to Pennsylvania. While in Idaho, we had our daughter and got our other dog, Pancho. Then, in March of 2021, we decided it was time to come back home and raise our children near family.

Anywhere that allows dogs and a place for us to camp and hike :). My current favorite spots were hikes in eastern Idaho/western Wyoming.

I love to run, hike, bike and teach yoga.

My Career Story

I began working with children when I was 15 as a camp counselor. I knew then that education was something I would forever be passionate about. While student teaching at Slippery Rock University, I identified my desire to work with young children. I worked in various daycare, preschools, and Head Start schools. When our son was born, I took some time away to raise our children and be a stay-at-home mom, ultimately, planning to go back to work upon our return to Pennsylvania, so I kept an open mind as to what I wanted to do next in my career. It was when my son entered early intervention services that is when my interest in working with children who have special needs became apparent.  While searching for the right fit, I came across Systems 1-2-3,  realized this is something I’ve been looking for since I started working, and interviewed. I’m excited to  be a part of the team and help teachers and children around the Pittsburgh area!
