My Story

Growing up I moved around a lot with my family, living in New Mexico, Virginia, Colorado, and California. After graduating high school in New Mexico, I moved to Illinois to attend Wheaton College, where I received my degree in elementary education and met my husband. After college we lived in the city of Chicago for the next twelve years and had our three children there. In the summer of 2022 our family moved to Pittsburgh, where we are enjoying being closer to my husbands family and having our kids grow up near their cousins.

Any new city to explore everything it has to offer and eat yummy food with my husband! We especially loved living in Paris for 6 months when our oldest was one.
I love to read, drink coffee, travel, eat at good restaurants, do yoga, and watch comedy shows and go on walks with my husband.

I am spending time with my family, watching my kids play at the playground, having friends over for dinner, drinking coffee, and reading a good book.

My Career Story

I knew I wanted to work with children and be in the education world since I was young. In college I became drawn to urban education in particular and opted to complete my student teaching in Chicago.

After graduating, I completed a year of Americorps and then taught 1st and 2nd grades at a school on the west side of Chicago. While teaching, I became convinced that teachers more than anything needed more support in the form of one-on-one coaching in order to grow and sustain them in the profession.

I went to grad school at Northwestern University while I continued to teach and received my Masters in Teacher Leadership. It was then that I had my first child and I took some time out of full-time work to travel and be home with him. With a new need for flexibility, I began coaching teachers across the country virtually, partnering with them to provide feedback and support and increase student outcomes.

After moving to Pittsburgh, I desired to be working with teachers and children in person again and happily discovered System 123. I love that I get to partner with teachers and teams who are supporting children and working to show up as the best adults we can be to give children the environment they need to grow and thrive. My passion continues to be supporting and building capacity in teachers—who I believe have the hardest and most important job in the world!
